 The Disease Specific Care Reviewer-Ortho is responsible to review the following certification programs-Total Hip Replacement, Total Knee Replacement, Spine, Total Shoulder Replacement, Total Ankle Replacement, Hip Fracture and the Advanced Total Joint Replacement Program. Reviewers are expected to be knowledgeable regarding best practice in Orthopedics and provide our partner organizations with reviews that are educational and inspirational. The goal of certification is to ensure that patients are provided evidence-based orthopedic care and that the program continually monitors its performance of that care.

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Team Lead for Standards Interpretation Group will assist the Senior Director of Standards Interpretation and Senior Associate Director of Standards Interpretation Group in the support of daily operations for the department.  In addition to performing daily operations tasks of Associate Directors, they will be responsible for leading small projects within the department.  They will address mild to moderate concerns involving internal and external customers. Combines systems analysis skills with in-depth general and program-specific knowledge to evaluate health care organizations’ compliance and ability to provide high quality, safe patient care. Serves as faculty for surveyor and other education programs and represents the Joint Commission as liaison to various professional organizations. In conjunction with operations team, ensures that accredited organizations receive excellent customer service and that their accreditation needs are met.

The Health Care Federal Relations and Public Policy intern works primarily with the Joint Commission Government Relations office in Washington, DC. The intern will assist the DC office staff with specific projects related to national health care policies, health care legislation, and Joint Commission’s advocacy agenda. Interns will be expected to attend office and in-person events in the Washington, D.C. area.   The Health Care Federal Relations and Public Policy internship offers students the opportunity to build and strengthen skills particularly in research, analysis, and writing. In addition, the internship provides an opportunity for the student to gain an understanding of how health care organizations and other stakeholders advocate for health care policies, build relationships with executive branch officials, and interact with legislators.      The internship is an 8 week program beginning June 3, 2024.      TJCNW #LI-HYBRID
