The Disease Specific Care, Stroke Reviewer is responsible to review the following certification programs: Acute Stroke Ready Hospitals, Primary Stroke Centers and Comprehensive Stroke Centers. The expectation is that reviewers will provide our partner organizations with educational and inspirational reviews. Joint Commission Certified Centers will provide evidence-based care to their stroke patients and continually monitor their performance.
The position serves as a primary liaison between Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) and Information Technology (IT) on the design, testing and implementation of key applications that support critical business processes. This position is responsible for the management of multiple complex projects which meet major divisional priorities. Manages the data collection, analysis, and reporting of information to measure key processes within the division. Additionally, this position collaborates with business stakeholders to develop or modify internal processes, as well contribute to the establishment of, and compliance with, department and enterprise policies and procedures.
INDMP
Lead and direct projects related to the development of Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation and certification standards and survey process. Provides direction and leadership to technical advisory panels and committees participating in the development of JCI accreditation and certification standards, and the accompanying survey process guides. Manages the process for interpretation of standards for all JCI programs.
Represents JCI in relationships with international accreditation bodies and government agencies such as Ministries of Health, WHO, ISQua, and alike. Serves as a technical and content resource to staff, JCI leadership, and advisory groups as it relates to JCI accreditation and certification standards.
This is a hybrid position. Will require work in the Oakbrook Terrace location.
The Joint Commission Resources Vice President, Business Development & Marketing, is responsibility for developing and leading the US domestic region’s business development vision, strategy, plans, and processes that will drive sales, increase revenue, retain current customer base, and accomplish financial objectives. This role also has leadership responsibility for US marketing in support of business development and state & payor relations. Reports directly to the enterprise Chief Operating Officer. This position is part of the enterprise officer team.
This position collaborates and works closely with our product development division (Innovation Hub) in the development and launch of new products and services, to support strategic growth plans.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Life Safety Code Surveyor, with minimal immediate direction or supervision, reviews assigned functions in Life Safety, Environment of Care, and Emergency Management throughout the United States. Life Safety Code Surveyors apply sophisticated analysis skills and inductive reasoning skills to assess health care organizations' compliance and to identify opportunities for improving compliance with applicable Joint Commission standards, policies, and protocols.
The Joint Commission Resources Vice President, Joint Commission International is a new position in support of a new enterprise growth strategy with responsibility to lead and grow our business outside of the US reporting to the enterprise Chief Operating Officer. Currently, our international region consists of two product lines, Joint Commission International Accreditation and Joint Commission International and they operate in 76 number of countries servicing over 1,000 customers with over 200 full-time equivalent employees and independent contractors located all over the world.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Collaborates with Joint Commission Resources Central Office staff (based in Oak Brook, IL) and colleagues to generate leads, develop proposals, and pursue to close the sale of consultations and other Joint Commission Resources and/or Joint Commission International services. Maintains active/current knowledge of Joint Commission Standards/Joint Commission International Standards and survey process, health care and discipline-specific trends and content, as well as established solutions for the improvement of patient care. Serves as Joint Commission Resources subject matter expert for specific methodologies and product lines. Creatively approaches client organizations with solutions to improve the delivery of patient care and operations.
Comprehensive knowledge of Joint Commission Standards/Joint Commission International Standards and survey process required. Ten or more years of experience in health care, with seven to ten years of progressively more responsible experience in senior health care management or quality/performance improvement. Maintains current and relevant knowledge of health care issues and strategies. Prior experience in a health care consulting role is highly desirable. Preferred candidates have performance improvement experience. Strong standards knowledge in applicable Joint Commission programs is essential. Excellent communication skills as exhibited through professional involvement in leadership roles, teaching, consulting, or relevant publications. Written and verbal communication skills necessary to effectively present information and ideas in proposals, reports, and presentations. 100% travel required.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides exceptional on- and off-site consultation and education to domestic/international health care organizations or other clients, emphasizing practical approaches in the application of The Joint Commission and/or Joint Commission International standards as well as technical assistance in general health care quality and patient safety improvement.
- Consistently prepares well-articulated and focused written consultation reports aimed toward senior health care executives. Obtains feedback from Joint Commission Resources and/or Joint Commission International clients regarding the quality of services and deliverables and actively makes improvements therein.
- Identifies the unique needs of client organizations and tailors consulting services/engagements (type, scope, etc.) accordingly. Responsible for new and current business development (to a defined expectation) inclusive of client relationship management, lead generation, assistance in proposal development, and sale of Joint Commission Resources and/or Joint Commission International products and services. Maintains and grows client relationships through ongoing communications and a systematic process for client follow-up.
- If requested to perform as Team Leader, leads a team of consultants to deliver a client engagement that is comprehensive, achieves client expectations, and is successful at executing all contracted deliverables in a timely and quality manner. In this capacity, articulates all interventions with the Managing Consultant and appropriate Client Services Manager at The Joint Commission and/or Joint Commission International Central Office and completes all necessary follow up activities for client.
- Promotes Joint Commission Resources and/or Joint Commission International products and services through public speaking engagements and representation at high profile national and/or international conferences/meetings/conventions and/or at Joint Commission Resources and/or Joint Commission International sponsored seminars and conferences as requested. As applicable, may serve as the key contact for a state hospital association related to contract deliverables and/or coordinate educational workshops. Writes and/or reviews papers/chapters/case studies/articles for publication or for Joint Commission Resource and/or Joint Commission International journals or newsletters, as requested.
- Actively participates in professional development activities, such as training, webinars, audio conferences, and other relevant education programs to stay abreast of current The Joint Commission and/or Joint Commission International policies, products, services, standards, and survey processes, as well as consultative skills as appropriate. Proactively executes on a continuous development plan through the pursuit of performance discussions, feedback, and learning opportunities for growth.
- Participates on committees, task forces, and/or teams in the design, testing, evaluation, and redesign of Joint Commission Resources and/or Joint Commission International consulting and education products and services, business processes, and various initiatives as assigned. Actively shares innovations, creative strategies and experiences with colleagues. Develops educational materials for use in revenue generating opportunities when requested.
- Identifies the unique needs of client organizations and tailors consulting services/engagements (type, scope, etc.) accordingly. - Conducts a thorough and credible evaluation of assigned services that meet laboratory accreditation criteria. Plans, reviews and apportions review time so that all review requirements are addressed thoroughly. Reviews and evaluates pre-survey information; researches, collects, organizes, and interprets information from multiple sources. Interviews physicians and staff to determine level of compliance with standards. Analyzes documents, such as performance data, and use of clinical practice guidelines, to assess the level of compliance with Joint Commission standards, evidence of performance improvement, and quality of care.
- Using established review protocols:
- Analyzes written self-descriptive program information.
- Participates in and/or conducts all required conferences and interviews; analyzes all data submitted by the organization.
- Documents all recommendations, providing adequate indication of non-compliance.
- Submits review findings in a complete and accurate manner to the Clinical Laboratory Scientist Surveyor.
- Interprets and explains the intent of the standards to the organization’s personnel. Consults with the organization during review concerning non-compliance, opportunities for improvement, and remedial action required. Recommends publications and other resources that clarify standards and/or demonstrates compliance with standards.
