Overview

Responsible for gathering data and information from internal and external data sources and systems, reviewing and analyzing data and trends, and presenting key information, and recommendations to management and executive staff of JC. Additional responsibilities include monitoring and providing data and information on current business operations as requested by business staff and serving as a key resource for staff across the organization on internal and external business intelligence data. The individual will also lead and participate in groups concerning internal and external business trends.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support for existing reports, dashboards, or other tools. Works with staff in other departments to identify business intelligence and operational data needs for the creation of reports, dashboards, and/or other outputs.
  • Prepares and conducts presentations on data analyses to senior management and other staff members. Helps staff understand, interpret, and utilize data to refine and enhance business operations.  Assists staff in the understanding and applicability of the statistics presented.
  • Works with team members to translate requirements into technical specifications; assists in the identification and assessment of potential data sources.
  • Provides ongoing data, reports and analyses information on various current business operations.
  • Provides support, assessment, and analysis on the dashboards/reports as well as tickets related to security, dashboard design, and data accuracy.
  • Prepares and provides reports and analyses to assist leadership, marketing, product line and other business staff in making effective business decisions. Meets with staff to determine and refines data and information needs. Generates reports summarizing business trends, financial, and economic data. Manage timely flow of business intelligence information to management.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and reports on industry and geographic trends with business strategy implications. Synthesizes current and historical business intelligence, financial, other operational and trend data to support strategic initiatives and operational business requirements.
  • Provides product line analyses of historical trends and future growth projections to be used in budgeting revenue projections and resource requirements across the JC business lines.
  • Leads and participates in groups on improving business processes based on the data and analyses prepared.
  • Collects business intelligence data from available internal data sources, industry reports, public information, and/or purchased sources. Synthesizes current and historical business intelligence and trend data to support strategic and operational business requirements.
  • Analyzes competitive and market strategies through analyses of related product and market trends.
  • Participates in Data Validation, Performance Testing, and design strategy.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in information technology, statistics, mathematics, finance, business, public health or a related field.
  • Five to seven years of experience in developing business intelligence and analytics solutions.
  • Ability to present analyses and recommendations effectively to the leadership, senior management and other staff groups.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and formal communication abilities to interact effectively with executives and staff at all levels in the organization. Able to communicate effectively in sensitive situations.
  • Demonstrated experience working with highly sensitive confidential and proprietary information.
  • Demonstrated experience with business intelligence tools and software systems such as MS Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, SAS and/or SPSS. Microsoft suite of tools with Excel, Word, Power Point as well as GitHub, DevOps
  • Demonstrates success in meeting deadlines and assigned accountabilities for complex projects.
