Overview

The Joint Commission is pleased to offer a one-year full-time President’s Fellowship designed for health care professionals (such as, MD, DO, Advanced Practice Provider, RN, or Pharmacist) with a strong interest in health care quality, accreditation, and certification. This unique opportunity provides immersive exposure to leading-edge practices and innovations in accreditation, patient safety, and performance improvement across a range of care settings.  The fellow will report to the CEO and President and work under the direction of the VP, Chief Medical Officer, as well as other Officers at The Joint Commission and National Quality Forum during the year.

Responsibilities

The President’s Fellow will rotate through key divisions of The Joint Commission enterprise, including but not limited to:

  • Accreditation and Certification Operation
  • Global Accreditation & Certification Product Development
  • Division of Innovation
  • Department of Research
  • National Quality Forum and Quality Measurement
  • Federal and State Relations
  • Editorial meetings of The Joint Commission Journal of quality and Safety

In addition, the Fellow will:

  • Complete a quality-focused project approved by senior leadership and that contributes to the design and implementation of TJC enterprise strategy
  • Earn the Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) credential through a structured program in partnership with the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ)

Qualifications

  • Clinical professional in health care (such as MD, DO, NP, PA, RN, PharmD)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in an administrative leadership role in Clinical operations or Quality, Safety, Experience or related area
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work successfully in a hybrid work environment
  • Ability to commit to a full-time fellowship (clinical activities may be allowed with prior approval)
