Overview

 

The Senior Financial Systems Analyst plays a critical role in coordinating the enterprise-wide annual budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes. This position supports corporate initiatives by preparing in-depth financial analyses and partnering with business leaders to develop data-driven business plans, offering valuable insights to inform senior management decision-making.

In collaboration with the Financial Systems Manager, this role is responsible for enhancing financial system functionality, performing routine maintenance, developing new features, and validating integrations—particularly with Workday. Responsibilities include designing, developing, coding, and testing system enhancements while ensuring technical accuracy and data integrity.

As a key member of the Financial Analysis and Reporting team, the Senior Financial Systems Analyst also produces accurate and insightful management reports and analytics. This role requires close collaboration with stakeholders across the organization to support financial and ad-hoc reporting needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and development of enterprise-wide budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Maintain and update dashboards, reports, assumptions, and cycle configurations for budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Provide guidance and analytical support to budget owners using Adaptive Planning.
  • Administer user access and security settings within Adaptive Planning.
  • Design and manage financial structures, including dimensions, members, and hierarchical relationships.
  • Oversee data and metadata loading processes, ensuring data integrity and accuracy through validation checks.
  • Monitor and maintain seamless integration between Workday and Adaptive Planning systems.
  • Support data imports, exports, and enhancements for system interfaces and new feature implementations.
  • Develop and maintain financial and ad-hoc reports using OfficeConnect, HTML-based reports, and custom dashboards.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to planning and reporting functionalities.
  • Serve as the Financial Data Model (FDM) Architect for both Workday and Adaptive Planning platforms.
  • Deliver variance analysis comparing budgeted figures to actual monthly results for management review.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, accounting, IT, or a related field.
  • Previous experience with Adaptive Planning and Workday software.
  • 3-5 years' experience as a Workday/Adaptive Systems Analyst or 7-10 years' experience in financial planning or accounting.
  • Excellent analytical, technical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, advanced LOOKUPs, nested if statements, and logic formulas.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information (e.g., salaries).
  • Preferred experience in multi-entity and product line businesses, and financial modeling at a P&L level.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities.
