The Senior Biostatistician provides technical and statistical leadership and expertise in quality measurement science. They are responsible for managing a team of professional statisticians and data managers supporting NQF’s and the Joint Commission’s quality measurement projects. They serve as a key leader in the Joint Commission’s expanded use of data and analytics to advance quality and safety. They guide statistical aspects of the expanded development and use of low-burden next-generation quality measures -- i.e., high priority, low burden measures that improve equity, quality, and affordability -- in Joint Commission programs. The Senior biostatistician supports the conceptualization, development, testing, and benchmarking of measures for use in accreditation, certification, value-based payment and care improvement, drawing on multiple data sources including claims, electronic health record, patient-report, registry, and other digitally sourced data. The Senior biostatistician problem solves with the NQF/TJC quality measurement leadership and staff to design approaches that are technically sound and feasible across care settings using real world data and that leverage emerging data standards and technology.
Education/Certification:
Advanced degree in statistics, biostatistics, or health services research with training and experience relevant to healthcare quality measurement.
