Overview

The Director will collaborate with the consultant cadre and global clients to develop new consulting services, manage internal IT applications, ensure the success delivery of long-term projects, ensure the successful delivery of consulting educational programs and improve/ update existing services.  The Director will work within the Enterprise new product development process to identify potential new services, prioritizing these services, scoping the work, and preparing for client delivery.  The Director will also be responsible for working with the global consultants to enhance their utilization and support their on-site activities.  The Director may have up to 5 full-time direct reports

Responsibilities

  • Assumes a lead role in working directly with consultants and clients to create, update, and improve global consulting services.
  • Overall accountable for the design, innovation and maintenance of EST. Manage internal IT applications as they relate to global consulting activities. Work with global consultants and internal enterprise IT staff to prioritize enhancement request, manage a backlog of features, and oversee future implementations. Develop roadmap for future iterations of global consulting applications, as well as implementation strategies for existing applications.
  • Works within the Enterprise process to develop new/ enhance services using tools and techniques in collaboration with teams across the Enterprise. This includes responsibility for (1) defining the services, (2) leading internal cross organizational teams to develop the services, (3) testing the services in the market, through focused pilot efforts with targeted clients, (4) developing a plan to scale the services. (5) partner with Field Resources to educate the consultant cadre on current and new solutions.   May be responsible for up to 5 direct reports providing coaching, mentoring, and guidance.
  • Develops and monitors global consulting project plans in conjunction with key stakeholders. This includes the ongoing oversight of the Environment of Care Sustainability and Construction projects.   In collaboration with the Executive Director, assists in the development of short and long-range business goals, budget projections, annual objectives, and work plans for global consulting services.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations on new and improved services at JCR internal and external meetings including the JCR Board, JCR education events such as Executive Briefings, the JCR Customer Advisory Group, The Joint Commission’s Corporate Liaison Group and other meetings.
  • Partners with MDOE, Regional Offices, and Marketing to sell and promote JCR/JCI Consulting services at conferences, trade shows and other events and participates in the development of marketing plans and materials for JCR consulting.
  • Provides other day-to-day support as directed by the Executive Director of Global Consulting and CSR Consulting.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business, healthcare related field, or equivalent. Seven to Ten years of progressively more responsible experience in consulting is highly desirable. Excellent organizational and planning skills required.
  • Knowledge and experience working with clients and stakeholder groups in the healthcare environment. Possesses a working knowledge of current trends in health care and health care organizations.
  • Knowledge and competence managing technology applications. This includes a working knowledge of Agile Methodology, SCRUM, backlog management, and product roadmap creation. Additionally, knowledge of CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) is highly preferred.
  • Ability to gain rapid knowledge of JCR product offerings, standards, survey process, accreditation policies, quality improvement strategies, and patient safety required.
  • Strong skill in communications and facilitation as work functions occur in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and formal communication abilities to interact effectively with executives and staff at all levels in the organization, and externally to consultants and clients.
  • Maintains written and verbal communication skills necessary to effectively present information and ideas in presentations and business proposals.
  • Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software required. Data management and Salesforce experience strongly preferred.
  • This position requires 15% travel.
