Overview

The Joint Commission is seeking a Compensation & HRIS Analyst to be responsible for the support and maintenance of the UKG HCM system, with a primary focus on the Compensation module and related processes. This role involves updating records, approving workflows, and assisting with other related processes to support the HR department and compensation function.


This is your opportunity to implement best practices in HRIS and its administration, compliance, compensation, and employee lifecycle events. The role is open due to a retirement.

 

 

 

Responsibilities

As a Compensation & HRIS Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

    • Provides administrative support on compensation and related projects such as career path development, department organizational changes, sales incentives, equity adjustments etc.
    • Participate in compensation surveys and benchmarking internal jobs to the external surveys.
    • Support internal job studies & leveling review through research and collaboration to develop and refine job descriptions and define career paths. Partner with Talent Management in the assignment of job competencies by job level. 
    • Process wage and salary changes resulting from market adjustments, promotions or other job changes.
    • Coordinate the annual merit process in UKG and rollout the internal promotion/equity planning process. Create and update job codes and annually update salary ranges in the HRIS system. 
    • Partner with Talent Acquisition and provide recommendations for all new hire offers based on internal equity.
    • Verifies and processes certain UKG workflows such as personnel actions in HRIS system relative to new hires, changes of status, promotions, and terminations; performs routine testing and maintenance of system and audits accuracy of information maintained in the system on an on-going basis.
    • Enter promotion and equity adjustments, initiate company transfers, org updates and PTO balance adjustments for FTE status changes.
    • Generate, develop, and analyze HRIS reports to provide insights and support data-driven decision-making by HR and organizational leadership.
    • Conduct regular audits and quality checks to ensure data accuracy, compliance with regulatory requirements, and adherence to internal policies.
    • Provide HRIS / data support to payroll such as reconciliation of UKG PTO balances for Leave of Absences with the external vendor and payroll and submitting special pay requests to payroll.
  • The Compensation & HRIS Analyst position is well-suited for you if you:

    • Background knowledge/familiarity of HR/Compensation/Talent Metrics and a demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive and/or personal information.
    • Have previous experience with HRIS systems and reporting (UKG preferred)
    • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills to effectively answer questions and counsel employees.
    • Are comfortable communicating with a wide variety of individuals and organizations.
    • Possess some knowledge of federal and state regulations affecting HR (i.e.: FLSA, EEOC, etc.).
    • Can prioritize workload and complete work either independently or as part of a team engaged in multiple project assignments.

     

Qualifications

  • What you’ll need:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, information systems, or related field
      plus 5 years of relevant experience, as an equivalent.
    • At least 2 years of experience in a corporate Compensation or HRIS team, or related HR function.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel with pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s and summarizing data in graphs and charts.
    • Able and willing to work in the Oakbrook Terrace corporate office 2 days/week (Tuesdays & Wednesdays)

     

    What will set you apart:

    • Previous experience with UKG is highly preferred.
