Overview

The Joint Commission Resources Vice President, Joint Commission International is a new position in support of a new enterprise growth strategy with responsibility to lead and grow our business outside of the US reporting to the enterprise Chief Operating Officer.  Currently, our international region consists of two product lines, Joint Commission International Accreditation and Joint Commission International and they operate in 76 number of countries servicing over 1,000 customers with over 200 full-time equivalent employees and independent contractors located all over the world.

This position will have overall Profit and Loss accountability for the International Region with leadership responsibility for business development, international consulting, and international accreditation.  The VP, Joint Commission International will also work closely with our Innovation Hub to develop and launch new products and services in alignment with strategic growth plans.  One of the first priorities will be to evaluate and rationalize the current international business and develop a scalable growth strategy including investment needs and estimated returns.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop and direct all aspects of the company’s international operations based on sales/profitability and other goals and objectives established by the Enterprise COO.
  • Develop both overall business objectives and strategic plans for the international operations including a scalable organization development strategy and model. Develop plans for international expansion into different geographies.
  • In collaboration with the JCI Director of Business Development & Marketing, they will plan, oversee, and implement international sales & marketing strategies, highlighting the products and consulting services offered, along with new go-to-market, data driven products focused on patient safety, quality of care and operating a high reliability healthcare organization.
  • Represents the Joint Commission outside of the US in conferences and with clients; becomes the face of JCI, establishes strong relationships with external stakeholders and patient safety influencers and potential funding sources including Ministries of Health, The World Health Organization (WHO), The International Society for Quality in Healthcare. (ISQua), the International Hospital Federation (IHF), The World Bank, etc. to promote the Joint Commission Enterprise’s mission in improving patient safety and quality.
  • Establish the plan to grow revenue outside of the US; ensure premier quality and integrity of all JCI consulting and accreditation products and services.
  • Responsible for managing the P&L for the International segment and be able to forecast and adjust business operations as required.
  • Lead and motivate mission driven teams engaged in selling, consulting, marketing, and operations servicing our customers.
  • Establish short and long-term goals, operational goals, customer service metrics, and retention goals for the region.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred, or an equivalent level of education and 10 to 15 years related International Sales and Marketing experience of progressive responsibility.
  • Experience leading an international region including business development and product/service delivery operations preferably in healthcare or related field, selling to medium and large healthcare networks.
  • Proven track record of driving top line growth and managing business operations and P&L.
  • Proven track record of developing and successfully implementing an international growth strategy.
  • Experience in managing significant organizational and cultural change.
  • Candidate will ideally have both profit and non/not for-profit work experience.
  • International travel required, approximately 50%. Valid passport with no restrictions to global travel.
  • Fluency in English.
