We are seeking a Strategic Initiatives Intern who will help strengthen overall business performance for two companies within our global company through a combination of planning and modeling activities, decision-oriented analysis, and partnership support to key stakeholders. The overall goal is to help advance both the Joint Commission International (JCI) and Joint Commission Resources (JCR) long-term financial and operational strategic priorities.



In this remote internship opportunity, the intern will work directly with full-time associates and leaders helping to strengthen the financial and operational viability of key products within our portfolio and advance our overall data analytics maturity. 


The intern will provide support for gathering data in different ways: mining JCR and JCI data, looking at national and international data and industry trends, and looking at potential new data sources across the Joint Commission enterprise. 


The intern will also assist with:  financial analysis of key products within our portfolio, revenue modeling as JCI explores a new subscription-based billing model •  KPI Dashboard creation/improvements • Post-acquisition data analysis • Support for business unit budget analysis and tracking


Candidates will learn: • Basic knowledge of commercial operations, financial and data management for a multi-million global organization  • Basics to understanding of product line P&L statements • Overview of financial planning & forecasting activities • Project management skills • Data analysis skills • How to further Excel and Power BI skills and capabilities • Proper interaction with other departments • Exposure to other related departments through potential ‘shadowing’ opportunities


Ideal candidates must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or Healthcare Administration, or related major • Be a junior or senior in good academic standing • Possess strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills • Self-motivated and able to work independently • Microsoft Office proficiency


Hours expected to range from 10 to 16 per week.
