Seeking Candidates with DME experience. 

 

GENERAL SUMMARY

Field Representatives, with minimal direction or supervision, survey and/or review health care organizations throughout the United States.  Field Representatives apply sophisticated analysis skills and inductive reasoning skills to determine a health care organization's degree of compliance with applicable standards and functionality of care delivery systems.  Field Representatives to apply their knowledge to assess risk points in organizations.  Field Representatives must have the credentials, professional demeanor and expertise to earn the respect of the health care organizations' staff and leadership.  They must be able to employ advanced communication skills to engage health care organization staff in interactive dialogues on a broad array of health care issues in order to assess compliance and to identify opportunities for improving compliance.  Field Representatives must have superior written communication skills to prepare detailed, accurate management reports that clearly link individual standards deficiencies with potential systems vulnerabilities and related organization risk points.  Field Representatives must be able to professionally and effectively communicate survey results to health care organization leadership in a constructive and collegial style.  They must possess sound understanding of High Reliability, Robust Process Improvement and Culture of Safety.  They must be able to effectively and efficiently utilize their time by employing RPI tools in their daily activities.  Field Representatives must be able to work effectively and collaboratively as a team member.  Field Representatives are also required to participate in other Joint Commission activities as assigned.

Qualifications

 

Requirements:

  • Qualified candidates must be a graduate of an accredited school of respiratory therapy and is Registered by the NBRC.
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
  • Current professional license in at least one state and discipline required at time at time of hire and must be maintained throughout the duration of employment.
  • The candidate will have 3-5 years' experience in home-care and the provision of respiratory related equipment or equivalent experience in sleep laboratories and the provision of sleep equipment, and must have at least 2 years of management experience in these areas.  
  • Experience must include working for a home medical equipment provider with experience in a variety of durable medical equipment and oxygen delivery systems.
  • Qualified candidates must have knowledge of Joint Commission standards with direct involvement in two Joint Commission surveys.
  • Previous and/or current experience with working knowledge of durable medical equipment.  
  •  Experience working for a home medical equipment provider with experience in a variety of durable medical equipment and oxygen delivery systems. 
  • Ideal candidates will have experience in a culturally diverse work environment; fluency in Spanish is a plus. 
  • The team players we select to take on these highly visible, challenging roles will have strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills, expertise in interviewing, and PC proficiency.  

Candidates interested in part time positions must be available to work two weeks (.48 FTE) or three weeks (.7 FTE) per month, and must provide three or four weeks of availability for scheduling purposes. 

 

Physical Abilities:

  1. Must be able to observe, in real time and without slowing or otherwise interrupting the progress of, all applicable types of ongoing health care treatment (e.g., including emergency treatment, treatment during weather and other extreme situations, etc.).
  2. Standing for long periods of time, walking lengthy distances, lifting, climbing, stooping, pulling, and pushing in order to adequately inspect and observe all medical facilities, equipment and procedures, such as emergency exit procedures, remote storage facilities, any areas where cleanliness may affect the possibility of infection, medical equipment, etc., including the following activities:
  • walking up and down stairways (e.g., to test escape routes, assess safety of emergency exits, regulatory compliance, etc.);
  • removing obstructed covers or impediments to equipment or other mechanical areas;
  • examining small and often dirty printed labels and print on equipment;
  • Must be able to engage in extensive travel as set forth above, including driving a car to remote locations, flying on small airplanes and into small airports, traveling in all types of weather conditions, etc.

 

Candidates interested in part time positions must be available to work two or three weeks per month, and must provide three or four weeks of availability for the purpose of scheduling. All positions require 100% nationwide travel. 

Fulltime - 1.0 fte requires 4 weeks out of the month with 100% travel.

Parttime -

 .48 fte - requires 2 weeks out of the month with 100% domestic travel.

.70 fte - requires 3 weeks out of the month with 100% domestic travel.
