GENERAL SUMMARY

Assist the Executive Director in managing the strategic development, growth and retention, and day-to-day operations of the activities related to the assigned sales team for accreditation and/or certification programs. Responsible for sales and account management within an assigned territory and for a specified Customer List. Manage assigned staff Business Development Specialists and Business Development Managers that serve as key contacts for organizations and programs eligible for accreditation and/or certification. Identify and assist new and existing customers in the decision process to pursue accreditation or certification.  Serve as the lead business manager and administrator for the Department’s contact management/customer relationship management database as assigned. 

Responsibilities

  1. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    1. Focus sales efforts primarily on organizations eligible for the Behavioral Health Care and Human Services Accreditation Program by pro-actively identifying potential targets, conducting business research, meaningfully engaging key leadership contacts in the sales process. Sales efforts will include cross-selling for organizations eligible for the Behavioral Health Care and Human Services Program.

     

    1. Actively contributes to the successful achievement of SBU performance objectives through effective SBU team involvement and proactive communication and collaboration.

     

    1. Achieve quarterly and annual sales revenue targets.

     

    1. Initiates contact and follow-up with organizations pursuing accreditation/certification utilizing SalesForce.

     

    1. Maintains/manages assigned leads and prospects within the Department’s contact management/sales database. Ability to develop, analyze and respond to data reports within the contact management/sales database. 

     

    1. Identify opportunities, write proposals, coordinate, prepare and deliver webinars, workshops, national and state presentations and events.

     

    1. Arrange, plan, and conduct external customer development meetings.

     

    1. Collaboratively work with other Joint Commission departments and staff to respond to customer inquiries and needs.

     

    1. Promote portfolio of Behavioral Health Care and Human Services and serve as program representative at conventions, national meetings, and other external activities.

     

    1. Collects input and identify trends from the field segments that relate to the assigned accreditation or certification programs.

     

    1. Participates in the identification, design, and development of Joint Commission products and services.

     

    1. Leads and/or participates in Strategic Business Unit and other internal work groups as assigned.

     

    1. Participates in the development and testing of accreditation and certification products, including education programs, publications, consultation, standards and survey process development, and any other products that support the accreditation and certification programs.

     

    1. Works cooperatively with state and federal relations staff to maintain existing recognition/deemed status relationships and pursue new recognition/deeming relationships.

     

    1. Work collaboratively with payer relations staff to develop, sustain and further relationships with targeted payers.

     

    1. Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

 

1. Excellent oral and written communication skills necessary to produce proposals, reports, and presentations.

 

2. Effective public speaking skills.

 

3. Able to organize and respond to complex information.

 

4. Self-starter, comfortable in a deadline-oriented environment.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

 

  1. Master’s degree or equivalent experience.

 

  1. Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in a health care setting with a minimum of 5 years in sales, including 2 years in the programs represented or equivalent.

 

  1. Familiarity with the field segments addressed by the program(s) preferred.

 

  1. Minimum 5 years proven track record in sales, business development and/or account management.

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

 

Anticipated travel requirements (up to 50%).
