Performs research in collaboration with others to complete science-based projects. Makes detailed observations, analyzes data, and interprets results. Maintains a high level of professional expertise through familiarity with scientific literature. Provides support to the research department in the execution and maintenance of studies. Maintains, updates, and may establish various databases for project tracking. Maintains project operations files.


  1. Assists with the day-to-day implementation of assigned research projects. (70%)
  2. Assists with the assembly and development of assigned sections of research proposals.
  3. Independently carries out procedures associated with scientific literature reviews.
  4. Manages research activities as assigned including professionally engaging research subjects/organizations for recruitment activities and research implementation (e.g., interviews).
  5. Collects data and summarizes results.
  6. Assists with the development of interim and final reports, and with the development of peer-reviewed publications (may contribute as a co-author).
  7. In collaboration with the project team, maintains a project file.
  8. Organizes and implements key project activities (e.g., expert panel meetings, article or proposal submission logistics). with limited oversight. May be responsible for project communication including notes and minutes. (15%)
  9. Actively participates on departmental and organizational work teams related to projects assigned. Consistently offers observations and suggestions to enhance the quality of a team's work product. (10%)
  10. Assists with the tracking of progress of project components and regularly communicates/reports status to the project leader. In collaboration with the project team, maintains a project work plan. (5%)


  1. The level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through the completion of at least a Bachelor's degree, preferably in a healthcare-related or technical field.
  1. One to three years of research, technical and/or clinical experience in a healthcare-related field. 
  1. Experience in social science research methods. Project management experience preferred.
  1. Recognized technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access), Adobe Pro, and multiple web browsers. Demonstrates the ability to quickly learn and master new applications.
  1. Exhibits, effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively and professionally interact with external stakeholders and project partners.
  1. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a team-oriented environment.
  1. Possesses good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  1. Displays a willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
