    Reporting to Corporate Compliance & Privacy Officer (Compliance Officer), the Compliance Manager manages the compliance program which includes but is not limited to Council meetings, training and education, audits and monitors, tracking action items for findings through completion and assists with other compliance program activities. The Compliance Manager contributes to the success of the Enterprise Compliance Program by modeling and promoting compliance with our Code of Conduct, promoting ethical behavior, facilitating proper decision-making, and providing staff with the tools and resources to do what is right in any context.


    • Communicates the compliance program to all staff:
    • Independently designs and implements compliance training programs and materials, including computer based modules such as the HIPAA training program. Uses Compliance and Privacy Officer for content expertise. Will develop an education plan for all programs and content with a goal of building awareness on priority topics to strengthen the compliance program. Prepares and delivers presentations to staff about the compliance program, including orientation of new staff.
    • Works with enterprise partners such as Communications, Marketing and Council members, to develop compliance-related communications such as the Compliance Department Website, the Code of Conduct, newsletters, or other communication blasts.
    • Meets with various business units/departments to build relationships and enhance their abilities to support the compliance program.
    • Takes responsibility for facilitating the completion of compliance program activities:
    •  Prepares a draft annual work plan for Compliance Council review and approval, then manages to ensure completion of the work plan.
    • Manages third party audit activities to include any RFP process, completion of document productions and coordinating staff interviews, and tracking completion of action plans in response to findings generated during any compliance related audit.
    • Coordinates the Compliance Council including setting meeting agendas to ensure urgent and routine matters are addressed;
    • Develops and maintains the compliance line database, the compliance scorecard, and assists in design and implementation of a customized documentation tool for tracking compliance-related information, data, audits, corrective action items and training.
    • Working within the broad strategic global guidelines set forth by the Compliance Officer, assists with internal audits and monitors by conducting staff interviews and collecting necessary documentation of business unit compliance efforts.
    • Works with the Corporate Compliance and Privacy Officer with handling of compliance issues and/or investigations:
    • Creates framework and conducts compliance interviews, special assignments, identifies and conducts research when necessary in support of the Joint Commission compliance program.
    • Takes leadership of the compliance line and handles compliance matters with guidance from CCPO when necessary.
    • Coordinates compliance policy and procedure reviews with business as necessary and if revisions recommended, may take the lead in drafting the recommended revisions.
    • Provides back-up on handling hotline calls.
    • Works with Compliance Officer and other key staff in developing and maintaining a global privacy plan with data mapping.
    • Manages compliance records retention activities:
    • Responsible for development and updating the e-version of the annual compliance playbook, and GDPR and HIPAA audit binders.
    • Coordinates the records retention workgroup activities.
    • Designs and manages the Sharepoint compliance document management portal.
    • Assists the Compliance Officer in performing the annual risk prioritization process for identifying enterprise and compliance areas of risk.
    • Follows a program of self-education and development to remain current in this field, by receiving training as needed, reviewing relevant literature; serves on appropriate committees as assigned.
    • Recommends quality and/or process improvement initiatives in order to more effectively and efficiently perform the job functions of this job or of the compliance program in general.


    1. At a minimum must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Records Management, Project Management, Business or a healthcare field. Master’s level education preferred.
    2. Five years of progressive experience in mastering and leading compliance related projects, managing a corporate compliance or audit program or at a minimum a high level business operations role involving significant project management. Corporate compliance or audit experience preferred.
    3.  Excellent written and verbal skills.
    4.  Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills required.
    5.  Excellent PC skills including experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
    6. High level of integrity and confidentiality required
