  • Overview



    The Business Development Manager supports the promotion and business development activities of the Center for Transforming Healthcare, including contributing to sales, marketing, communications and commercially-driven speaking engagements. Responsibilities include ensuring Center marketing and business development plans are executed and managed according to plan and budget, and tracked and reported accurately.




    • Accountable, along with the Center Business Development Director, for lead generation lead conversion, as well as revenue targets as appropriate
    • Assists in the development of Center proposals and contracts as required.
    • Prepares, delivers and supports Director and other Center leaders in presentations and webinars used for business development and/or sales for internal and external audiences.
    • Develops and executes customer and market research in support of Center products, including customer segmentation, competitor analyses, and data aggregation for business pursuits from Center tools (e.g., TST, Oro 2.0)
    • Fulfills requests for information about Center products and services generated by marketing campaigns, as well as other sources.
    • Works collaboratively with enterprise marketing to ensure development and implementation of CTH marketing plan, including quality assurance of Center collateral
    • Ensures the Center’s website remains accurate and updated in collaboration with other Joint Commission stakeholders
    • Promotes the Center’s high reliability products and services and serve as Center representative at conventions, national meetings, and other external activities.
    • Other duties, as assigned.




    • Ability to develop and nurture relationships with customers verbally and in writing, and to work collaboratively with Director or other Center leaders to triage and advance discussions forward
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills necessary to produce proposals, reports, and presentations.
    • Ability to work with contemporary sales tools for tracking and managing business development activities– with experience preferred using Salesforce and Marketo. Contribute to results reporting tracking based on customer pursuits.
    • Strong data analysis and management skills, with an ability to extract insights from data.
    • Able to organize, synthesize and respond to complex information.
    • Self-starter, comfortable in a deadline-oriented, but rapidly changing environment.




    • Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in health administration or business discipline), with Master’s degree preferred.
    • Experience in sales or business development in healthcare industry (5-7 years).
    • Knowledge of the health care provider environment (e.g., hospitals, health systems, behavioral health organizations, etc.) through experience in a health care setting or in health care business development and/or customer relations, consulting, or account management.
    • Training in Robust Process Improvement (RPI) required
    • Computer proficiency.




    Anticipated travel requirements (up to 25%).
