The Infection Control Specialist (ICS) supports the corporate-wide need for knowledge and expertise in infection prevention and control through collaboration and interactions with the above noted divisions. The ICS provides education, interpretation of infection prevention and control standards and regulations to staff and field representatives as well as customers and serves as the subject matter expert in matters related to infection prevention and control. Leads and coordinates projects and special initiatives as directed. This position is based out of our Oakbrook Terrace, IL office located in Chicago Western Suburbs.
The level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through completion of a Master’s degree in Nursing or Public Health.
Minimum of 5-7 years recently as a practicing infection control specialist in a hospital setting with increasing responsibility. Experienced in healthcare epidemiology. Additional experience in other settings preferred.
Must be currently licensed as an RN and currently Certified in Infection Control (CIC).
Leadership/management experience preferred.

Effective interpersonal skills to interact with individuals at various levels both inside and outside of the organization, often in sensitive situations requiring political awareness.
Excellent customer relationship management skills.

Strong computer skills including word processing, presentation software and databases.
Demonstrated ability to function well in a fast-paced, highly visible and challenging environment.
Is flexible with schedule to accommodate urgent requests and deliverable deadlines.
Up to 20% travel required.
