The Project Director, JCI Journey is responsible for leading the team that will develop the “JCI Journey”, a road map which describes the quality journey organizations take as they transform from an organization where patient harm occurs on a daily basis to an organization where there is zero patient harm. Working closely with key internal stakeholders as well as internal and external SMEs, the Project Director and team will also develop, refine and pilot-test the evaluation tools for placing hospitals on the “JCI Journey”. The Project Director will work with IT, Marketing, Finance and other key stakeholders to develop the value proposition, business model and promotional materials for the “JCI Journey”, develop an effective information capture system to collect data from hospitals in a comprehensive and robust manner and ensure that the project achieves its key milestones in a timely manner.


  1. The level of knowledge and experience equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through completion of a Master’s Degree in Science, Healthcare or related field required.  
  2. At least ten years of experience in healthcare or business, with five years of global (non-US) work experience. Previous experience in project management is highly desirable. 
  3. Conceptual understanding of the principles of evaluation of healthcare organizations through familiarity of 3rd party accreditation and certification systems or work experience in a standards writing organization. 
  4. Excellent analytical skills and knowledge of research methodologies so as to develop research studies, design data collection systems, interpret research and evaluation results and oversee project budgets. Experience in research, either clinical or healthcare, would be greatly preferred. 
  5. Managerial ability to plan, organize, and synthesize complex research and evaluation activities involving a wide range of individuals, groups, and/or committees. 
  6. Possess a supportive, service oriented, mission centric attitude with a demonstrated ability to attain results creatively and in a timely fashion. Able to work independently, sets high personal standards and delivers to those requirements. 
  7. Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with individuals at various levels both inside and outside the organization and often in sensitive situations requiring political awareness. 
  8. High degree of proficiency in application software suite for business communications, presentation, data management and project management.
